Learning New Skills, Website Update, and Goals 9/29/2021

I've been on what can possibly be described as a manic episode, only instead of looking like a person with mental health issues, I have been learning SEO. I am far from actually understanding it, but I suppose that I've been doing pretty well for myself. Last week this website ranked C+ according to SEOptimer, and today it sits at A-.  But what I can do better isn't really something I can actually do, unfortunately. The suggestions given to me are to link my website with Twitter, Facebook, etc. I don't have accounts on these platforms really, at least Twitter. Hopefully adding Facebook will be enough.  In the mean time, I've signed up for Google Analytics and I'm in the process of Google Adsense.  So what is my goal with this website? I want to use it as a sort of portfolio to let people know who I am exactly. I want anyone reading to know my life goals, my current short term goals, and generally share what I am thinking. If I can make money off this website, I&

Vaccines: Connecting Hatred for The Unvaccinated To Racism and Classism The Allergic and Ageism. Allergies to vaccines is another reason someone may refuse a vaccine. According to the CDC , anaphylaxis can occur when receiving a vaccine. During a December 14-23, 2020 monitoring of the COVID vaccine's effects , 21 cases of anaphylaxis occurred out of 1, 893,360 first doses. 71% of these occurred within 15 minutes. Because of this, they have released guidance  on how to handle situations like this, namely the use of epinephrine. According to the NCBI , up to 5% of the US population has suffered anaphylaxis. Though death is rare and constitutes only 1% of mortality risk. However, according to Statista.com , deaths in ages 0-17 the risk of death due to covid is  0.06664096157% . My First Reddit Bot

I have been learning Python since July. This has been a self-learning venture and to this point has been the longest I've gone learning a new skill outside of school. The fact that I have been able to do this gives me hope that I can actually learn anything I want. What I decided to do with my amateur knowledge is to create a bot for Reddit. This bot searches a specific subreddit for certain keywords and responds to that keyword with a message. The bot ran for a few days before I shut it down, it had accomplished its goals and served no purpose other than to show that I can do it.  I will admit, most if not all of the code was not actually written by me. I utilized GitHub and Reddit to answer questions and smooth out problems. However, I was able to read the code and understand what was being done, I also had to convert much of the code from Python 2 to 3.  The conversion of Python 2 code to Python 3 was easy, and automatic. The process, though, is one apparently little known by p

Reality Is Way Scarier Than Fiction (Amelia Earhart)

Image
As someone who loves horror stories, I've been watching a lot of horror videos on youtube. The stories told are supposedly true and many can be proven true, as they post the sources as well. It seems that most of the horrifying tales are about drowning and claustrophobia. However, it's one update on an age-old mystery that stuck with me. Amelia Earhart was the first female aviator to fly alone across the Atlantic, a receiver of the Distinguished Flying Cross for her accomplishments, and missing person since July 2, 1937. But that last one may have been proven wrong though I pray to God it doesn't because the theory of Gardner Island is more horrifying than anything else you could imagine. Earhart and Noonan (her copilot), were on their way to Howland Island when they became lost. Their experience told them not to waste time looking and instead to find another island nearby. One of Earhart's radio transmissions, 157/337, tells us that she and Noonan began to fly a course

Let Me Tell You About One of My Favorite Movies (Sleepaway Camp)

Image
Sleepaway camp is the 1983 movie equivalent of turning on the stove top only to touch it and be surprised that it's hot. The movie is so bad that it's actually surprising when it becomes good, which is in the last minute of the movie. This may be unfair to say, but my wife and I actually laugh throughout the entire movie, which is why the ending caught us off guard and left me actually frightened, something which hasn't happened since I was a kid and my Dad pretended to cut off his finger on April fools day. Spoiler Alert! The movie opens in 1975 when parent John Baker and his partner Lenny take Johns kid's Angela and Peter on a boating trip near Camp Arawak. The kids decide to do what every kid does and prank their father by capsizing their boat. On their swim back to shore a camp counselor named Mary Anna hits John and Peter with her speed boat. Angela lives with her Aunt and cousin Ricky now and they are both sent to Camp Arawak. Angela is introverted and shy w
